UTSU Acacia Cafe

Located on the border of the St George campus at College and Spadina, ACACIA is the next incarnation of the Innes Café that served students, faculty and the university community at nearby Innes College for over twenty years.  Denegri Bessai Studio authored a new addition to the University of Toronto Student Commons on the entry level of the building in what was once the Architecture Gallery and main critique space. 

The cafe is punctuated by entrances along the four enclosing sides, producing a space characterized by its converging corridors. The faceted, tiled serving counter is positioned such that it is registered from all sides equally, yet has a clear front face to encounter students, professors, and citizens alike.
