Walmer Residence

kitchen

Located in The Annex, we were asked by the client to update the character of this traditional Victorian home to reflect more modern sensibilities and contemporary material palette. The relocation of kitchen to the toward the centre of the house introduces a new informality that better connects the kitchen with the living room and back-yard. The island, made from imported carrara marble, becomes the centre of social life; an ideal place for homework, cooking and entertaining.

The material choices are intended to reflect the quality character of the home, but as the same time offer a refreshing palette of rich materials that gives the house its vibrancy.
